Where to Play Pickleball in Nanaimo
Nanaimo offers a growing number of indoor and outdoor pickleball opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re looking for organized club play, recreational games with friends, or a place to practice your skills, there are excellent facilities throughout the city.
Some locations host Nanaimo Pickleball Club activities, while others are available for public drop-in play.
Beban Park
Beban Park is home to Nanaimo’s premier outdoor pickleball facility, featuring eight dedicated pickleball courts that opened in 2024. The courts have quickly become a popular destination for recreational and competitive play.
In addition to the new dedicated courts, players continue to use the lower courts adjacent to the tennis courts, which have been an important part of Nanaimo’s pickleball community for many years.
Conveniently located in central Nanaimo, Beban Park offers ample parking, nearby washrooms, and easy access to other park amenities, making it one of the city’s most popular places to play pickleball.
Oliver Woods Community Centre
Oliver Woods is the primary indoor venue used by the Nanaimo Pickleball Club for organized play, lessons, clinics, and special events. Indoor sessions provide a comfortable year-round playing environment regardless of weather conditions.
Centennial Building (CB)
The Centennial Building (CB) is in the Beban Park complex and is one of the club’s indoor venues. It has four courts, and the club supplies nets for all of them.
Our sessions at CB are for NPC members only. The building is open during club sessions, and a coordinator is at each session to set up and run it.
The City of Nanaimo also runs public drop-in pickleball at CB twice a week. Those sessions are separate from the club’s.
Finding CB
Look for the arched building with the Centennial Building sign over the large door.
Register for CB sessions through CourtReserve, and check the CourtReserve calendar for session days and times.
