Welcome to the 7th Annual Nanaimo Indoor Pickleball Tournament. We would like to take this opportunity to give you some up front information about what to expect in our tournament.

SCHEDULE: NOTE: Start times are approximate – we will start early if courts are available so please ensure you register at posted times.

WD 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 & 4.5+ 8:15 a.m. – REGISTRATION @ 7:45

  Saturday, June 22 – MENS DOUBLES
MD 3.0, 3.5 & 4.0 11:30 a.m. – REGISTRATION @ 10:45
MD 4.5+ 1:30 p.m. – REGISTRATION @ 12:45

Sunday, June 23 – MIXED DOUBLES
MXD 3.5 & 4.0 8:15 a.m. – REGISTRATION @ 7:45
MXD 3.0 & 4.5+ 12:30 p.m. – REGISTRATION @11:45

Courts – We have 8 courts; we are using 4 in Gym A and 4 in Gym B. Your event will be assigned courts in a specific gym. This should make it easier for you follow the teams in your event and be ready to play when the game prior to your scheduled time is finished. Please check the court marshalling boards as to the court numbers and gym you will be playing in.

We will have DOOR POLICE at each Gym and ask that you DO NOT go into the gym without all your team members for the game. This ensures limited interruption to the teams playing.

Practice courts/Warm Ups – Unfortunately we do not have the space for practice courts but you are more than welcome to practice outside the building with your partner against a wall or in an open space. Please limit your warm ups on court to a few shots as we need to keep games moving to ensure we have time for double elimination playoffs!

Matches – Each event will begin with a Round Robin and feed into a double elimination draw (time permitting) for the finals. Each team will have ONE 60 second timeout per game if required. All games are one to 11, win by 1 and only medal matches will be refereed. Round robin placing will be determined by Matches Won & Point Differential. If still tied it will be head to head or coin toss for elimination placing. You will be responsible to fill out your score card and have both teams sign on completion of your game and take to the scorekeeping desk QUICKLY.

Sportsmanship – As you will be keeping track of your own scores and line calls, please do so with the utmost sportsmanship. If there are any disagreements, please find Nancy who will make only one team happy…haha.

Cancellation – if for some reason you must cancel participation in an event or the whole tournament, please email Nancy at . Last minute cancellations cause great problems for tournament organization so please do your best to find a replacement if you are unable to play. No refunds for registration or event fees are available.


Food at the Tournament – each registrant will receive one lunch ticket which can be redeemed for lunch on the day of registration. Lunches will be served in the room upstairs starting at 11. Guest lunches were pre-purchased and players will receive the guest lunch ticket upon registration. A reminder, we cannot accommodate special dietary needs with our lunches. A HUGE thanks to Shirley for making sure you are all well fed! There is a water fountain that can be used for you to REFILL YOUR WATER BOTTLES and snacks/coffee will be provided for participants throughout the day.

Parking – This is a public facility so while there is lots of parking normally, if you can car pool that would be great.

Backpacks/bags – NO BACKPACKS/BAGS in gym. Players & water bottles only. This is a public facility – please either lock up your valuables or put in registration area. Leaving valuables in the facility is at your own risk.

Washrooms – There are washrooms on both levels of the venue.

Volunteers – Thanks to the many volunteers at this tournament, please personally thank them for their time to make this event happen for you.

Nanaimo Pickleball Apparel – There will be a table in the registration area showcasing our NPC apparel. You are more than welcome to browse, try on and order from the many fabulous products Lee and Brenda have available with the club logo on them.
